About

Hi! My name is Katie and this blog is a novice attempt – I have so many ideas that I want to share.  Ideas and thoughts and stories and lessons.  Some that were hard-won and others that were painfully arduous in making sense out of.  My hope would be that someone finds something here to open their mind or help them grow or find vindication because someone else on this big rock has thoughts and experiences similar to theirs.  At the very least, I would hope that people can relate in some way, to the ideas I plan to present here.

The underlying concept here is that I believe in the power of the mind.  It’s a broad topic, so I am going to attempt to limit my focus to the ideas that people can grow and heal and change; find strength in the face of a hardship, using the power of their minds.  Sometimes, however, they need a catalyst.  I, for example, have a kitten.  Whenever I focus on her, whether she is near or not, she pulls all my energy and focus in a positive direction.  And from that positive head space, I find that all my subsequent thoughts are a little brighter.  Focusing crystals and worry stones are two others that I find very helpful.  I have a Rose Quartz crystal in the shape of a heart, if fits in the palm of my hand.  Recently I was really struggling at work, and whenever I felt about to breakdown, I would squeeze all my tears and frustration into the crystal.  It helped.  The moment would pass and I wouldn’t have fallen apart.

Let’s explore that concept….
